Which ones do you prefer and recommend?

Best to get one with a seawater battery (ie activated by immersion) cause that eliminates the probability that the battery will go flat and corrode before you need to use it.

I upgraded all my jackets with the Seago kit which includes light, hood and crotch strap. No problems after 3 seasons, and I do check them each year.

Some say to avoid strobe(flashing) lights as these can coincide with the wave pattern and result in the casualty not being seen clearly
