Visted Lifeboat Inn East Cowes today. Service was appalling, it was not busy by any standard yet it took 45mins. to deliver the simplest of meals. God only knows how they will cope during Cowes week. My advice is DONT BOTHER.
After my first visit, I would have tended to agree with you. The food was lousey, quite the worst gammon steak I'd ever had.
However, as it is convenient for East Cowes, I went again last week. I have to say food was good, service reasonable, about 20 mins wait. Someone even came round asking if verything was OK. It was a Monday, but visitor berths at East Cowes were full.
So a mixed report on The Lifeboat.
Old Chinese proverb 'Man who sail boat into rice field, soon get into paddy'
Had a very good breakfast there last Saturday. They only serve breakfast on Saturday and Sunday. A bit more expensive than some, but good value for money at £6.25 for full english and £4.00 for continental, includes cereal, fruit juice etc.

We were there one Friday evening about a month or so ago. Food OKish but that was after waiting hour and a half - complained bitterly and got my money back but we would rather not have a spoilt evening.
Told another table (of 9) who had waited even longer to complain and they might get something but they didn't want "to make a fuss"! Says it all I think
