Oh well, it's all academic anyway. Just dropped by the marina (Bray) and we are still resolutely ice-bound & even though the sun is peeping through the clouds I can't see it melting enough for us to break free in the next 48 hours. :(

If you had some proper water with this stuff innit you would not get these problems.

jon wilmot

No sign of a licence here, probably xmas mail.can you reply as im new on this area of the site and finding the site harder to navigate than richmond lock approach in the dark with all the buoys unlit.thanks, jon

What a hideous design this year's licence is!

The light blue colour looks just as likely to fade as in previous years. My 2010 one is totally white now!!

I will be finding a better place to stick it this year. (:D)

Did I read somewhere the licences are to run 12 months from when you got them, like on British Waterways? If so, a licence bought last March (boat out of the water until April), which was valid from 1st Jan 2010, is valid until last week or end of March?

Nice try, but I fear not !

As I understand it, the new regs allow the EA to introduce rolling licences but they have no plans to do so immediately so, for the time being at least, its a calendar year.
