Thankyou to Mr and Mrs Broom for the tickets!!

What a brilliant piece of joined up thinking......

Jubilee line suspended for engineering works 9/10th Jan. How the hell are we supposed to get there if we dont want to drive?

I bet it will be quiet!

Is always stuffed, nothing to do with organisers more to do with TFL who have been made aware of this at the highest level (inc members of parliament visiting the show and the Head of the BMF meeting with them etc).

Yep its rubbish and yep we get it every year some years they even close the Lime House Link to help us even more.

It will be a pain but it's a classic example of how the car is king and one thing is for sure and that is the car park will be busy....

Roll on the Olympics....

You lot are always moaning about something - bet if I could be *rs*d to look back through the archives we would find some similar complaint last year etc etc

Should have stayed at Earls Court. That was much more fun and it was the boats clogging up the roads instead of the cars :D

SWMBO & I are planning to go on the first Sunday. We go up to Waterloo by train and then usually get the tube. That not being an option we will go on Thames Clippers from Waterloo Pier to Canary Wharf and on to Excel using their coach service. OK £7.50 is pricy, but it is a great trip and it will get us there with no hassle.

:)

you can also

Grab the DLR from the start at Tower Hill or Bank which can work out cheeper with a travel card.

Cheaper but not better...... through a load of grotty tunnels packed in with the hoi polloi or out on the Thames on a boat... No contest imho.

:)

Too true....

I shall be thinking of them when my car arrives at 0830 to take me into town....They better chill the Champagne this time round...

Tell me about it....

Yes.

South West Trains charges £9.80 to get to Waterloo from Teddington at peak hours!

Makes Thames Clippers look cheap!

This morning they were unable to do monthlies as the machines went down and had no other means......And who would have thought that today would be busy......sorry fred drift.

What ever way you look at it travelling in and around London aint cheap and never will be.

I go every year with three or four mates.
We always go on the day the show stays open later.
We've always driven via the Blackwall tunnel and followed the signs to Excel. We always drive straight in to the car park and have never needed to queue, but we do get there at opening time. For me driving is so much quicker and much more convenient than public transport.
I prefer Excel to Earls Court, but do seem to be in the minority.

Might see some of you there this year.

Has anyone else tried to go to the boat show by boat? I have repeatedly failed, one year I nearly ended up with a pitch at the show, in response to a request for somewhere to tie up.
I think I will go to the boat and caravan show at the NEC in Birmingham this year.
