Has anyone else tried to go to the boat show by boat? I have repeatedly failed, one year I nearly ended up with a pitch at the show, in response to a request for somewhere to tie up.
I think I will go to the boat and caravan show at the NEC in Birmingham this year.

Now that latter will be a bit of a challenge...

Quiet Show

Was a very quiet show on Saturday. I was surprised that big names like Sealine and Ancasta weren't represented at the show.
I did manage to find plenty of free seats in the RYA lounge which was a bonus, however!

I agree, we always use the RYA lounge for a rest. Only one request for them.....Can we have a change of menu for next Saturday as they always have Lasagne and Bangers and Mash!! (nice though they are)

I actually thought it was quite busy, I suspect a lot of peeps went to have the day out somewhere in the warm!!

Picked up a Motor Boat and Yachting for a Quid and it was actually quite a good read.

...and we did go on the clipper, if you have a Oyster its only £6.75 each way and worked extremely well.

I think I will head up on Saturday, train, tube and DLR so I can have a few bevvies while I'm there, as you do...

Anyone going on the weekend by public transport:

Check TFL website for suspensions/closures to the underground network.
Also note, as mentioned above, that Bank DLR station is closed at present.

Parking chaos thanks to Sunseeker

There was chaos parking at Excel this morning courtesy of Sunseeker. The signs for their VIP parking made it look as though only their guests could use the only car park entrance that was open. Cars were going round in circles trying to find another way in. It was not a good start to my visit and does not make me view Sunseeker very favourably either.

Once inside it did not get much better. There were fewer exhibitors this year and no great bargains either.

I went tonight, not as good as previous years altho I did find a stand doing heater systems that run off the engine coolant which looked ideal for me. I don`t really want the hassle of a diesel heater and for the price , less than £200 all in, seemed a good deal so I`m happy I went.

THE busiest Saturday IPC has had since exhibiting at ExCel...I know the reasons why but still it was refreshing to be so busy we could not stop!
