it’s quite amazing Not just that they found it but also the condition. I guess that the conditions must be similar to Stockholm were the Vasa was preserved so well.

Has been found at the bottom of the sea, just wondering where else they were expecting to find it?
Amazing condition judging by the pictures.

It is a designated monument under the international Antarctic Treaty that was hitherto a hypothetical entity. It now has substance and presence and is remarkably well preserved. Unlike another famous wreck, the Titanic, that is being eaten away by iron eating organisms and won't last much longer.

A bit of an exaggeration given how much of the Titanic has survived the last 100 years or so it will still have a sizeable bulk in another 100 years, it is collapsing that is for sure but it will be there for a long time.

As for the Endurance I follow Poignards lead it was a target for someone to spend a lot of money on researching the fact that it has been found does not change its status and integrity from looters, it's remoteness and exceptional difficulty in accessing will provide that.

Analysis by Henrietta Mann and Bhavleen Kaur, both of Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, in conjunction with other scientists and researchers of the University of Seville in Spain, has determined that the wreck of Titanic will not exist by 2037 and that preservation of Titanic is impossible. "Unfortunately, because Titanic is 2.3 miles [4.3 km] down, it is very difficult or impossible to preserve. It is film which will preserve it for history now," says Mann. "It has already lasted for 100 years, but eventually there will be nothing left but a rust stain on the bottom of the Atlantic... I think Titanic has maybe 15 or 20 years left. I don't think it will have too much longer than that."[109] Other scientists have estimated that Titanic will last no longer than 14 years, as of 2017.[110]
Quote from Wikipedia. I don't regard 14-20 years as a long time. I for one am hoping to outlive it!

I see that the Shackleton submersible was made by a subsidiary of the Swedish firm Saab (in Fareham). With the increases in military spending triggered in reaction to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Saab must be looking forward to a prosperous few years.
