Yes.
the results.
and an hour later with everything on.
Looks better than before. Can you not set the battery capacity on the monitor ?

Bearing in mind your charging thread, keep a close on on the charging with these or you could kill them in a short time. The 12.6V in the first pic is not fully charged.

The Ebay advert states "Totally maintenance free – NON sealed unit" that's a load of rowlocks. If they are not sealed they will vent and need periodic topping up, keep an eye on this.

Otherwise, good luck.

Almost certainly.....possibly .......would this possibly involve actually reading and understanding the instructions ?

There are definately vents in the top of the batteries.
Eventually came down to..............
A. Batteries that would actually fit inside the battery box .
B. Then chose with the heaviest battery , in an optimistic hope it contained the most lead ?

Of course the extra height of the batteries now means the £$%^? lid no longer fits on top.
Suspect that two of the batteries under consideration come from the same factory but with different labels.

Do appreciate your efforts .
If you should ever venture down to the more civilised part of the country by car or boat ,owe you a beer.

Real men don't read instructions ;)

After my last "deep cycles batteries" that survived for 4 years, with the previous 2 years in a bad condition, I said I never buy again the crap batteries they sell for deep cycle at a high price when in reality they are starting batteries at best...
With a little more money you can get a top-notch battery that's actually deep cycle.
For approximately 100 euros more than the crap, I bought 2x100AH lead carbon technology which is the best thing after Lithium. Plus you don't need BMS and alternator protection etc...only a good MPPT
The analogy is like buying overpriced junk shoes for 14$ or a Nike for 19$...Worths getting the Nike as they will last much longer and do the job perfectly...

Just one point regarding the 1/10th off fully charged. All the readings taken are always surface voltage, which will appear lower ( especially if their is a low load due to the internal chemistry) . This is the main reason we are told to allow the battery to sit for an hour or so ( surface voltage can continue to rise even with charging sources disconnected) before final readings.
Apologies if this has been allready mentioned, its a long thread and teas ready.
