How wonderful it must have been it days gone by to arrive somewhere else by sea - that others only could find by land. Or didn't believe even existed. These days if you go to france and back - so what? You had a chart: the clues and rules devised by everyone else who's been before. Let's admit it - there is no greater joy than chartless boating.
