getting the occasional thames mouthful isnt that bad. as long as your immune system is fine youll survive. just watch out for the thames trouts

That "Three Men In A Boat" comedic documentary ten years back (or more?) seemed to show the non-tidal Thames as an extraordinarily attractive place to sail. Broad enough, deep enough and placid enough, with none of the frothing brown standing waves, towering dock walls and grimy industry of the tidal central section.
