Pauline, don't you mean pre-mature!! ;-)

I am not old and only just a forumite, but I will be going. I probably owe you a cold one for the top steer towards the mbm back issues anyway.

Cheers

Well exhibitors do, but I would have thought a visitor thinking about it should get out more!

At this time of year there's house maintenance, winter lay-up, an Autumn break, Christmas parties, a host of things more interesting than thinking about a boat show.

Living in the stix I booked my flight for a 1 day visit 2 months ago. 99p (+taxes and charges) each way Newquay-Stansted on Ryanair. Did it last year taking train to Liverpool Street then DLR and arrived at 11:OO leaving again at 17:00 for the flight back. Got home at 21:00 for late supper. Great day. Would have liked another but cost of good accomodation makes it not worthwhile.

"I am an exhibitor so that may explain my forward planning"

I exhibitied at Earls Court from 1990 until 2003 and I cannot tell you how much of a relief it is not to have to bother. It is true I missed it last year, but actually my quarters turnover was up, and without the expence of being there I could deal as tight or tighter than exhibitors.

Last Christmas was just so nice, no jobs to finish, no endless drives to the show and back with stand building materials, stock and such. No bastards to steal from me. Very nice.

...but I did miss the chance to talk with everyone.
