Just got a boat with two lazarette lockers, but they do not have locks, only pull handles.
I would like locks that are opened with a winch handle or alan key, preferably the former, but cannot find one in the local chandlers or their catalogues.
Does anyone know of a supplier?

Many thanks

Chris,

Maybe you could bolt on some strong lever catches that have a U ring protruding once the catches are closed to which you can bolt a padlock? (Depends on the arrangement and material of lazarrette lockers.

If above not relevant, I do not think anyone makes catches which lock with a winch handle - though you could probably get some fabricated.

I can understand "winch handle only one tool" but the locks will be a bit big if you can get them..why not use the type fitted to house windows and doors that use a simple socket key there made in brass ...just a thought..

I've never seen a purpose-built lock that accepts a winch handle but I've seen water and diesel filler caps that do. It would be expensive but maybe you could cannibalise a filler cap?

Try Timage, they sell a wide variety of fittings. I have recently purchased fittings something like those I think you are looking for, but in my case to hold floorboards down. These have a recessed lift/turn handle that turns a shaft and a catch below. Don't know a contact phone number and Google can't find them, but they are always at LIBS. I've never seen ones that operated with a winch handle but they sound useful. Would appreciate hearing from you if you find them.
