Re: And?

Dave,
providing you are not 8 foot tall and 25 stone, You will be able to both squeeze into our spare oilies. We have 150n lifejackets with hoods and crotch thingies and harnesses.
I can say that we did a race in f6- f7 rising f8 yesterday, and did not take a drop of water over the side. We are not expecting to go out in such weather, the car would be a better option then!
You will be pleased to learn that we successfully took 2 virgin sailors out racing this week, and they both had a gas. Thats two more converts from fishing boats to sailing.

Bring red wine. Or beer, but no Yellow EuroBurp.
Suggest jumpers/fleeces may also be wise..... the heating works well in the boat, but the cockpit is a different matter. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Re: And?

Trust you two to be so disingenuous.

Belgium is not part of Europe, thats why they put the Euro HQ on neutral ground.
Beers of fine provenance such as Duvel are exempted from EuroBurp classification. Think Stella, or Finkbrau or other dumpies......
Oh yes, and I have some Duvel on FC for those of conspicuous consumption habit. So thats you two then.

Dave, if you are listening, Spitfire or Badgers Golden Glory are good starting points.

Your kind offer is duly noted - but I'm hurt that you felt fit to include me in that remark. I've never had more than my "fair share" of Duvel. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

OK - I may have had someone else's fair share as well. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

But Sailorman drinks like a fish /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Possibly /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Looking forward to this - short way to sail, so weather won't have such a big effect on turnout.

PS: "the boyfriend" may be there as well - in that case the kids will eat on board. My eldest & "the boyfriend" + my youngest to keep an eye on them.

Its booked!

I have today booked a table for 14 adults and 6 kids at 7pm on Saturday 7th October at West Mersea YC.
They have a function on that night, and are between Chefs, so....
They will let us know if:-
1) we are offered to join or be offered the same menu as the function
2) the normal Menu
3) Imported Fish & Chips or similar to the Club.

Will keep you all informed when they ring back

I also rang Jeff the Boatman, and he confirmed that 6 or 8 boats would not likely cause an issue at that time of the season.
No problem with draft of 2.1m (Mr Guapa & Mr Sailorman) Plenty of room nearer for my mudplugger then!

High tide is 12.57 and is Springs ish. Suggest getting to shore by 5pm in the boat or your dinghy, as it dries out on big tides near the pontoon for an hour or so.
Bar is open all day.....

Returning to boats wont be an issue except you will be against the tide.

Anymore?

Re: Its booked!

Not being a regular visitor to West Mersea, where eaxctly are we going?

Is it anchoring, or buoys?

(not that I mind either way, just thought it would be nice to be on the same side of the island as everyone else - you may disagree... /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif)

Re: Its booked!

Its on buoys, and..................................................................... its free. So is the water taxi I think, but I never used it.

From the Bench Head bouy proceed to the Nass beacon. The Mersea quarters are reached from the Nass by a well marked channel. At all states of the tide we recommend that you follow the lines of moorings as this clearly indicates where the deep water is. Visitor moorings are usually available for an over night stay - contact our senior launchman Jeff Wass on Marina Channel 37, the call sign is YC1 or on mobile number 07752 309435.
