Its actually two years ago since they ceased trading. I don't think they technically went bust, but it wasn't far off. They wound up the company, but you can still get a Parker 235 or a squib built to order from their successor BP sailboats....at a price.
I knew a few of the workers at Parkers as I used to live close by and worked in their houses. Sad really as they built a superb product, but what with the economy and cheap foreign boats, they couldn't get orders.
They never built anything near 40 ft, but anything with Parker on it sails very well and is nicely made, and if course every one of their yachts is lift keel.
I've always wanted a 235, but its a bit beyond my means and more than I deserve as well.
