larger lift keel yachts

Feeling aka Kirie - French built with option of fully retracting keel/twin rudders.

Dufour 39 di - rare over here - more in France

Ovni (Alubat) likely to be too expensive.

Do you need ultimate shallow draft and drying capabilities albeit with legs?

What yachts are available with a lift keel in about 40ft size other than Southly's, the older/cheaper the better!
I know that German Frers (Argentina) have made lift-keel boats in the 40-44ft range (maybe bigger/smaller ? ... dunno) - crewed on a chartered 44 once, the lift keel was an extremely useful feature.

But - I don't think 'cheap' and 'Freres' can be used in the same sentence.

What are the sailing characteristics of large lifting-keel boats? are these actually lifting keels (with weight) or just big centerbords

Sir will be looking at the most excellent Jeanneau Espace range.

which models please are lift keel, i can find anything!

Although you will find quite a few in France (of different makes) lift keel boats of this size have never caught on in this country - so your chances of finding anything other than a southerly are pretty slim - particularly if you want old and cheap!

Also try Beneteau First 305 and 325

You need to look at the spec of each one to see if it has lifting keel or not for all the French boats - DI in France means lifting keel.

Lots of older American boats have centre plates but not many over here.

Moody offered the option of a lifting keel on some of their models circa 1983- 37,41,419,47 maybe others but very few boats were actually fitted with lifting keels - lack of customer demand as expensive option.
