When you said " quantity", I thought you meant lots of gallons.
For that volume almost any chandler will be able to help, but there's a new European standard out shortly, designed to ensure that the right frequency of coloured light is emitted to comply with Colregs. Best to ask for White Steaming Light (sometimes called "cabin light") oil to the new spec, so that you don't get into trouble with the Coastguards, or worse, the French Douaniers - they are mustard on the EU regulations.
Technical question. Isn't there a risk of sputtering (from dissolved water in the oil) if the bottles aren't clearly marked with the CE approval logo ?
Nice clear white colour, though. Should shine well.
They don't seem to have a website but will sned you a catalogue for £3/4 old time stuff oakum, caulking cotton, slicon bronze, brass and copper fastenings Jeffery's no.2 black seam glue Whetting your appetite
Try the fuelling people at your local Southampton airport you want jet A1 is is the best you can get. Your best chances are to tell them you want it for model jet engine use.
It is very similar to barby lighting fluid but that is expensive.
Also you can get Lamp oil at Garden centres now for those lamps on sticks. All much better than ordinary paraffin that stinks.
Yes I bought some from the fuel people at Manchester Airport when I built a model Gas turbine a few years ago and they seamed quite happy to sell it me for that purpose.
& did it work ? - Where I kept the boat a few years back a chap (on a large cruiser) was reputed to have a gas turbine model boat - but no one ever actually saw it running .... although allegedly it 'went like stink'...
Hi. Yep quite well but like a lot of things it is is being modified it was intended for a try leg speed boat model.
You may have noticed from my bio I have been involved with GTs for some time the last was at Coniston in 1986 with Tony Fay and the British pursuit team but unfortunately they ran out of steam from a shortage support and funds.
Tangomoon, you mentioned Davey & Co. Nothing against them and my local chandler did get me a very nice bow roller from them. But he did mention that they have a minimum order value. They do have a website but you can't see their catalogue on it. I did ask them for a printed version but never heard anything back from them. My chandler did show me their printedd catalogue and they have some fabulous items in it for old boats.
I do not mean to rubbish them, just offering some comments.
