Now this might be a bit pedantic for a yachting pulication but could someone at YM please educate the writer of the piece 'Krakatoa east of Folkestone' (P14 July 07 edition) that there is a signifcant difference between the very minor earthquake which occurred near Folkestone in April and a super volcano such as Krakatoa which went off in fine style in 1883 decimating a large area with a conbination of volcanic ash, tsunamis and major earthquakes - sensationalist journalism is one thing but this one competes for space in the Dumb Britain column of Private Eye.
(and I do apprecite that if you travel far enough east Krakatoa might appear on the skyline)
