Koden KGP GPS

I have an old Koden GPS which no longer picks up satellites. I believe this is because the unit only had a limited number of years data when it was new.
I have been told there is a software fix for this problem but I can't find anyone who knows where to get it.
Does anyone please have a solution?

My old magellan had that problem. Left it switched on for 48 hrs with a view to satellites and it had sorted itself out.

Thanks, I have tried leaving it on for a while but not that long. Will try leaving it longer.

takes a long time for download of the new almanac. just leave it on and forget it.

Let me know how it goes. My meridien worked better than it ever had before after this procedure.
