km35P gearbox

op here! Big thanks to all for contributing - makes me feel slightly better about my confusion.
Im with you Vics. Despite my confusion (having found the same manuals and had conflicting advice from different dealers) the manual refering to the km35p says rest on threads, the manual refering to the other gearbox says push it in. the confusion is that both manuals refer to the same engine unit, but for some reason have chosen another example of both engine and gearbox in the oil measuring section. My engine is c2006 3jh4 but afaik the gearbox is similar. Maybe this might be contributing towards my cone wear/slip......? any further advice or leads very welcome

Is this a 5 minute argument? I've already said I've given up on this story of Yanmar's different recommendations. I've posted the extracts from the manuals. If you want to keep on pushing, fine.

It could have been no more than a 5 minute discussion if only you had accepted that "Not screwed in" means "Not screwed in" a lot sooner.

:D Ah, so what does "fully reinsert" mean, I wonder. You're turning into Victor Meldrew, Vic.[/QUOT

Dunno but thats probablywhy the wording was cahnged

Dunno who Victor Midrwe is but I gues thats intended to be an insult rather than a cmpliment.
Insults are against the forum rules . So now you stoop that low end of discussion!

You don't know who Victor Meldrew is? I don't believe it!

And it's a friendly joke, not an insult.
