Does anyone know if there any visitor moorings in the vicinity of Kinlochbervie where I could lie up for a couple of weeks? I would rather this than alongside the pontoons.

Nothing that I know of. Lochinver is the next nearest but that's pontoons as well. According to Welcome Anchorages there are no visitor moorings in the Northern Isles either - it's all pontoons or quays.

Was in Kinlochbervie a few years ago (car not boat), never seen midges like that! Unbelievable density.
