Bit of a longshot but my Kindles just died and I'm transiting through Jersey this afternoon. Anyone know if I can pick one up in St Helier?

Assuming you have the time, as you mention "transiting"
I would be surprised if you could not
You can certainly get them in St Peter Port. VAT free if you collect, so do not buy online if it means paying VAT.
You have the added bonus of a nice trip from St Helier & a much better place to stop over for a couple of days- or more:encouragement:

Googling did occur to me but yielded no results. I had two hours in St Helier and had no success so maybe it's more of an outpost then first appears? They even sell Kindles in the North now!

I brought my first and only electric razor in Jersey many year back when I broke my wrist and couldn't hand shave!

Tesco hadn't made it there the last time I visited, it was the Co Op with points IIRC.

One place I really do miss but sure it has changed since....

If stopping in St Helier I'm sure a call to the harbour office would elicit a supplier . We called them from Cherbourg to find someone to fix the fridge this summer and very helpful with sourcing a suitable techie to arrive so I'm sure sourcing a kindle to have delivered to marina office is no great issue. I don't recall any Tesco presence though but Waitrose has arrived so how about ordering via John Lewis's and collect in local Waitrose ? Click and collect is amazing

Problem was I was in thr airport 1 hour from St Helier when I posted so delivery wasn't a solution. I've resorted to books made out of a stuff called paper. Never again will I sneer at marina book exchanges as being obsolete.

Should have tried the Kindle app's on whatever smart device you have.. i have a Kindle but also have the app on my phone.. when you're out and about it's brilliant to just have a book in your pocket without having to bother about bringing the actual Kindle..

Even better if you can get the book in Whispersync so you can read or listen without losing your place.
