Re: Flames!!

Well, i think it was a bit strong. I've been to Hyde Park Corner, and even the total nutcases didn't go as far as condemning Faireys as Nanky Shite, although not many of the speakers were actually going on much about 60's powerboats.

Anyway, are you saying that if Burgundyben rips out the Formica, then the boat will NOT be considered as NS? Or, what else?

Thanks for the info guys, but I don't know if I'm any the wiser now. (Other than the fact I now understand " N S " and b****x !). There seems to be a great deal of opinion out there. Perhaps MBM could do an in depth study of it.
I've always used a paper chart in the past and will continue to do so in the future, despite the obvious drawbacks of wind, spray etc. I just thought it may be an idea to be able to plan well in advance, enter the necessary info, and have a good backup all from the comfort of my office.
I'm the guy that went for the 8 - track car stereo and the betamax video. You can bet that whatever system I go for it will be obselete within six months!!
Happy sailing.

Re: Paper charts: very dodgy

And another thing you can do with outta date charts is cover the kids skool books in them. All rather posh coverd in nauatical wrapping paper. Try doing that with a manky old defunct plotter!
