IIRC, You pay a fortune to get into any of the Royal Dockyard museums, but you do get access for a year, and it takes several visits to see it all.

When I went last year I was expecting to pay quite a high price (all museums seem expensive these days) I was hoping for a discount with my ID (not optimistic having been to IWM Duxford not long before) but it turned out that I got free entry, so for once I was a happy bunny.

It will of course be much better once the RM Museum gets re-established.

I have found the same. I was approached yesterday and it was very low key. We have our share of the inexperienced and nut jobs but I guess it is a magnitude worse around the Solent.

Last week the whole port was closed for two hours and it was all handled with great tact. It's a good plan to pay attention though, I recall years ago a racer decided to stand on and they manned his boat and dropped the crew ashore to walk home.

You can see the ship from the Gosport side. Try the Explosion! Museum at Priddys Hard. Can have a cuppa too.

That always raises a chuckle when I drive to Gosport. I must go in one day and check if it is just pictures of great plumes of water.

There has been a lot of NATO warship and Auxiliary traffic in and out of Plymouth for a few months now. A lot of them carry out work up training nearby.

I think the additional precautions were because she is a Boomer.

Not that close!

You can get a very good view form the top of the Spinnaker Tower though.

You could nip over to gosport on the ferry and walk along to the submarine museum.

This afternoon around 4pm. Definitely black rib with KHM on the side. 2 on board, man and woman dressed in black both barking orders!

So they had a dog like me onboard as well?
