KEYPART Freight Free if ordered online

It's simple really, if they are cheaper and they can get me the part quickly, genuine or otherwise, why would I want to go elsewhere?

I ordered a whole load of stuff from KP this year (all genuine Volvo ;) ), mainly because of the free delivery thing, and 20% discount on a trim ram.
Everything turned up quickly, and at a reasonable (for a boat) price.
Next year, who knows?
Normally I buy locally, but for some reason this year their shop is "closed" on Saturdays until April. D'Oh!

As I said above, because different parts get fitted at different times I don't see how the engine details are relevant; they are certainly not in my case. Photo attached:

In the world of Volvo penta, cars or trucks the codes are 100% relevant to any build, it's all about supplying the correct part that was fitted at the time of build or a new upgrade to improve the product, we all know Volvo get slated on here but at least they know what they are doing most of the time,

Still give me engine model if you can.

Exactly David. I feel for Shawn as he's had a bit of a rum ride with his new boat, not much more could have gone wrong really and I think he's been remarkable in dealing with the various mishaps along the way but I wouldn't want that to taint what is clearly a company that can benefit the forum members. Even for alternators on the assumption Shawn's experience is a one off lols :)

Hopefully look forward to meeting up with you over Easter when in Weymouth Shawn :)

Paul, alternators aside what I don't quite get is you're rubbishing KP on a single experience. Does that mean KP's a bad company as a whole for their wide range of competitively priced products, many of which are passive devices that simply cannot go wrong?.

Sorry Gary not a single experience mate, I've worked for myself since 1991 and tried to use them many times, some good some bad but the bad outweighed the good and no uk vp dealer likes to be beaten on price by an independent.

Fair do's Paul. I asked the question earlier "why would I want to go elsewhere", if you can do it cheaper at the same standard and not cheese of VP in doing so, then I reckon you'll be getting a call from me next time I need something :)

Quite simple really, He would rather you bought them from him!

Yes Gary I can help you out with parts as well if you wish, most of the non genuine filters are made in the same factory as the genuine vp filters.

It's comment like that make this forum a bad place, take a look how many times I have helped other boat owners on here for free, day in day out. It's not all about profit in this game it's about providing a service, all of my customers have my mobile number , there told they can ring me anytime, at weekends etc if they have a problem out on the water.

Cheers for your comment.

you obviously dont know paul then do you, yes he has to earn a living but he certainly does not try and get you to buy everything off him. when he did my boat it cost a few quid to say the least all of which i got knocked off the already agreed price and that was down to pauls expertise but thats another story

i needed loads of parts for my boat and paul helped me source a lot of them myself and pay for them direct so he obviously was not trying to get me to buy them through him, he also supplied a few bits himself and if he made 20% mark up on them parts then good for him its his time and effort in sourcing the parts, after all he has bills to pay like us you know his phone and fuel and time does not come free

i suggest you get to know someone and have dealings with them before you start throwing comments like that on a open forum there are some really great people on here lots have have helped me all for free and took time and effort to do so

then there are keyboard kids like you who just type the first thing that comes into their heads

Hi
Yes I also appreciate your considerable knowledge that you give so freely to this forum very useful. If you can benefit from it why not!
best regards

hi gary

yes mate i will be in weymouth at easter or should be weather permiting i will pm you my mobile number then give me a call when you are there as i would think there may be a few boats in the harbour for easter what dates you going again??

Sounds good Shawn, look forward to meeting you :) we're all aiming to be in Weymouth by noon on the 31st mate

To add some balance?
Ordered some non genuine air filter for an AD41B.....they were rubbish and didn't fit.....loads of hassle really
KP swapped for genuine free of charge

So agree with Paul....sometime good sometime not.....its all about shopping about. Sometimes VP agents have deals on

Keep well all

No reply, so I guess that's a no then? Thanks anyway.

I don't know if you meant this or not, but your reply does come over as being a bit snippy. Paul does his best to help people, but he's a busy guy (been all over the place this past week and is currently on a plane down here).

Anyway... other than the make/model of your alternator, which you've established, what actually is it that you want to know?

Cheers
Jimmy
