Just ordered 5l of Volvo coolant and a few filters from Keypart and was pleased to note it's all postage free when ordered online. It's not really made clear on their website that delivery is free until you go to the checkout so I thought I'd share the pleasant surprise as it makes a marked difference to the total cost when ordering heavy or bulky products such as oil, anti freeze and the like yet. Couple this with already keen pricing and they seem a good outlet to order from.

Just 5 mins off the M25 if passing Watford area

Yes... but there not really keyed up for the passing customer..... no shop as such just a reception area within the company, and you have to get someone down from the office's....

it's easier to mail order.....

agree great company..... been using the for years.... only live 10 mins away but easier to mail order.

my boat had an alternator on it from them and it was a very poor chinese quality product rev counter did not run correctly was 500 rpm out rang them and they were not very helpfull at all

fitted a decent alternator well volvopaul fitted it and rev counter sorted

i personally would not use them sorry

So you chose to buy a cheap part, with the wrong number of coils, then blame the supplier?

no alternator was already on the boat when i bought it paul picked up on the problem when he did a survey, rang them with the part no and invoice number and they told me that it was the correct part they had suppled and it was only 6 months old but seller told me it never worked properly from day one

you could just tell the quality was poor compared to the original alternator on the other engine

anyway dont want to hi jack the thread just putting my views across sorry if you dont like them just my personall experience with this supplier

This has just prompted me to order some stuff I needed - thanks.

I did note that the checkout said "UK Seasonal Campaign - Free Delivery", though, so this is presumably a temporary thing.

never worked correctly when i wanted to send it back had a bag full of excuses ...
Just because the rev counter displays the wrong RPM does not mean the unit is faulty. It means the person who bought it ordered the wrong one.

It says that all the time IIRC.

good god dont you listen i rang them and THEY SAID IT WAS THE CORRECT PART FOR MY ENGINES i gave them the valeo number off the other unit and they said the unit they supplied was the correct one but it was sh*t quality and did not work properly

when vp fitted a replacement it worked correctly reading the correct rpm IT WAS A FAULT WITH THE ALTERNATOR we proved this and keyparts response was very poor i know i spoke to them on the phone THE SHORT AND CURLIES IS THEY SOLD A POOR QUALITY PRODUCT THEY SAID WAS CORRECT FOR THE JOB AND IT NEVER WORKED AND GAVE ME A LOAD OF GRIEF WHEN I WANTED TO GET A REPLACEMENT

good god i didnt want to elaborate on the poor sevice i got from them but you have not given me much choice do you own the company or something

I thought you said it came with the boat? If the alternator had a fault that caused the RPM to read low, the output voltage would have been wrong. So the only conclusion is that the number of poles was not the same, requiring an adjustment in the tachometer.

when you buy a product and take the advise of the company selling it to you then it should bolt on and work (like the one i purchased did) you should not buy a product from a company who say "yes sir we have the correct part you require which matches the valeo numbers you have given us that will be £££ delivered"

when you then get that part it should work you should not need to start adjusting tachometers to make it work correctly, as i have already stated the new decent quality one i purchased just fitted straight on and everything worked correctly and the rev counter was reading what it should not 500 rpm low

the alternator was either wrong or poor quality both the suppliers fault not the purchasers

I think you may be correct Pete, the email I received says it ends 1st April.

sounds fab. However, have a little looksee at the Keypart prices, another Volvo organisation I compared against Keyparts prices didn't stack up (by a long way) with 25% discount applied, much of the differential was postage though so may not warrant an interest in your regard with you having a local outlet.

One thing I was going to say about Keypart - they now put the word "genuine" in the description if it's a VP OEM part.
If not, then usually it's a copy (cheaper).

Buyer chooses!
