Cast iron keel has artist spots on. My plan is to use Freetown rust converter, then prime and anti foul. But which primer?

Primocon seems to be very popular. Jotun make a two-part epoxy called Anti-Pest which is also specced for cast iron.

The key will be proper surface treatment (ablation ?) and then ensuring that the cast iron doesn't have any chance to rust bcs of atmospheric moisture.

Based on trying various rust converters on iron gates over the years, I'd hesitate to try and convert iron oxide to anything approaching the solid, continuous, material needed for successful adhesion of a primer, however good.

Best to attack the keel with an angle grinder with course sand paper on a rubber backing pad. Get it down to shiny metal then rust converter and epoxy as suggested. good luck olewill
