Where can I get a kebab machine for the boat, looks like a good source of instant compact easily prepared nutrition to me!

Ali might be able to help you on this one:

I dont know if machines are available but it sounds a great idea. Some years ago a friend of mine bought some boil in the bag Doner Kebabs, they were unspeakably horrid things the colour of old roadkill. Actually i like proper kebabs they have protein, salad & carbohydrate plus a bity of fat in short a real balanced meal /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

After a drinking session we went into a kebab shop in Bristol. A hippy looking student girl in front of us asked if they did vegitarian kebabs? She then explained what she really meant, a pitta with some salad! My mate leaned forward and said, "don't waste your money luv, just follow me, I'll be chucking that away in about 5 minutes!"

As you've got a horizontal anchor windlass, you could modify it to turn really slowly. Then put the kebab skewer in so it's vertical. All you need then, is a an electric fire on the foredeck and off you go.

You could get it going in the marina on a Friday and Saturday night and make a fortune!!

Analysis shows that a doner kebab contains the same amount of fat as 1.5 wine glasses of cooking oil plus 98% of the daily requirement of salt. Who needs the machine?, just get a bottle of cooking oil /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Suspect that the heady cocktail of oil, salt and chili sauce might actually tast quite nice if served with chorizo scallops and fresh bread

Lovely though ,especially after a few beers. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Twas that what prompted my post, it looks as if its pretty good high calorie stuff (my only reservation would be the high salt content) for sailing, or indeed any activity. Has anyone actually proved that fat is, in fact, bad for you?
