KAD44P-B ECU Broken

Just done a garage tidy. I have an old ECU with all the same numbers on the lable (but batch no. 9908). I can't recall if it works or if it is the exact one for your engine. But you are welcome to try it. PM me your address and I shall send it.
Regarding supply, you will never find it in stock. What is stocked is the unprogrammed ECU (this is the part no. on the lable (If I recall correctly)). This unprogrammed unit is not issued (hence not being available). When an order is placed the unprogeammed ECU is taken off the shelf and programmed. It then acquires its part number (this part no has been mentioned in other posts). Should you need an ECU you must order it. Then you will get it.

Hi d
Martin, we had a KAD44 ECU fail earlier in the year and I finally managed to get the old / broken one home to have a look at it.

The old one was largely working, but wasn't giving any lights on the EDC panel nor was it allowing the boat to select gear.

I opened it up and couldn't see any obvious signs of failure. I have heard of one person who managed to re-solder a loose connection but I know no more than that.

The terminals looked OK on mine but weren't perfect. I do wonder if some very careful cleaning might bring it back to life.

I sent internal photos to one ECU repair specialist to see if they could do a component test however they said that due to the type of potting that has been used it is not possible to get to the PCB.

Nobody has any way of testing these ECU's (other than fitting one to an engine).

I'll be interested in other people stories / theories.
hi did you fit a new ecu or keep the old one in
I just fitted a new ecu did the calibration it turns over fires then stops got no codes coming up
Put old ecu back in and it runs
Is there something I’m missing
Cheers Perry
