Hi All

The sea pump on my KAD32 is dripping water so I need to remove it to change the seals. I know it’s fixed with two bolts and that I need to remove the two water pipes to get it out.
My question is do you need to remove the water strainer first or can you get the pump off by just wiggling it off the two the pipes? There doesn’t seem much room so I was thinking maybe one needs to pull the strainer off first which looks like you also need to remove the coolant reservoir to get to the strainer bolts. Any advice gratefully received
Thx Ralph

easiest way to remove the pump is undo the two bolts, release the jubilee clips on the pump and the strainer. Then start jiggling/tugging - whatever comes away first is the easiest way to get it off. When you replace the seals, measure how far the shaft sticks out the back of the pump first, then make sure it goes back in to the same point. Unless it is scored then a few mm or 2 either way should work.

Thanks Kashurst,

I wasn't sure if there was enough give in the rubber pipes to get it out without removing the strainer first. I'll give it a go as you suggest. I've watched a detailed video showing how to refurb the pumps including the measuring the shaft as you suggest. It's just getting the pump off I was struggling with.
