Once upon a time I used to faff around with cable ties and bits of tube in an effort to insert replacement impellers correctly orientated. Then I came to my senses! After a few experiments I found that however the vanes lay during installation they always flopped over to their correct position within, at most two, revolutions of the pump's shaft. Conclusion? Just stuff the impeller in and it will sort itself out without any outside help.
