Re: Couldn\'t happen to a nicer Guy!

The most ulcerous, slimy, creepy, skin-crawling, obsequious bastard on British TV, and that’s saying something cause there are enough of them to fill several coach loads.

Go on – cry – it’s good for my ratings. Urrrghhh.

Uriah Kilroy-Silk I am SOOOO pleased you’ve gone.

Re: Couldn\'t happen to a nicer Guy!

John, the point being not so much the man, like or dislike him, but rather the state of this country today where a Brit is fast becoming THE ethnic minority in his own country. All because we had freedom of speech in the first place, something none of the countries of the so called minorities do.
I wonder how RKS(no, I am not a fan), or indeed any other Brit, would have fared if these comments had been made loudly at Speakers Corner.
The problem being, IMHO, that the establishment in Britain has been so insidiously infested by the namby, pampy do-gooders of our society, who will pounce on any cause at the drop of a publicity hat, that we have lost sight of who we are and whose country this is. I have worked over a lot of the world in the last 36 years and have discovered not one country, where we are treated the way in which we treat them. Believe me, I may not have agreed with some of the things done in past history, but neither am I about to atone for the deeds of my forefathers.
We have become too liberal by far in this country.
No apologies for the above. All IMHO.

Re: Where is the line to be drawn?

""The vocal minorities control media and politics because they have passion, aims and drive.
The bovine masses witter aimlessly among themselves and remain powerless.""

Absolutely, perfectly, said.

Re: Where is the line to be drawn?

I would have said it had more to do with the British culture of turning the other cheek..............................only to have it viciously and repeatedly slapped these days.
Therefore, I agree that the wittering masses do nothing and therefore deserve everything they get, just like the people we allow to govern these days.(and I don't JUST mean the current ones) The problem is that there is almost no way back from this situation, and I can foresee the day, when we end up like another Yugoslavia, destroying itself from within, with the Police powers so watered down as to protect only the politcally correct, and not the innocent, regardless of the wishes of the 'wittering' masses.

Re: The First \"Good Thing\"

The first "good thing" the, above mentioned, namby pamby do gooders have done for this country, is to, rid us of the blight that was RKS.

I found it hard to believe that anyone with an IQ higher than a Gnat watched that crap.

Lets hope he stays away. May he rot in hell!

Re: Couldn\'t happen to a nicer Guy!

Of course its possible to make a reasoned critique of any country and its customs, and it should be possible to say so, however this is different to having a go at a specific race which I find repugnant.

Anyway to be frank I never saw his article, it may have been reasoned and objective for all I know. The reason for his departure is less interesting to me than the fact of it!

For evil to triumph all

it takes is for the good to do nothing.

Well said Kilroy. The BBC should welcome him back.
