I think i remember from reading through the annual reports that the exec still have a non contributary final salary pension scheme.
Now if that's true seems a bit naughty as the guys who do the work are probably on a contributary money purchase scheme.
Just had a look at the Report & Accounts. Yes, there is a non-contributory final salary pension scheme for "certain of its senior management employees" - RYA currently contributing 34.3% of salary.
There are also idividual pension plans for "certain coaches and middle managers who joined before April 2003" - RYA contributes 12.5% of salary.
All new employees since April 2003 may join a single group personal pension plan - RYA contributes 10% of salary.
Assuming "all new employees" does include new senior managers, this seems not unreasonable.
Pictures of HRH Princess Royal, whom I'd have in my lobby if her daughter came too, were few and far between in the latest RYA mag - one only. although might have been in anticipation of HRH's sprog's pic being splashed all over the media thus quite enough pics of the family ...
Just looking up the dictionary meaning of the word "yachting" as in "Royal Yachting Association" - having difficulty reconciling it with the not so yachty image on the front page of the RYA mag (above)..
Such publicity leads one to wonder just how all those cautious and even cynical civil servants, eurocrats and officials that the RYA has to influence and lobby actually regard the RYA - perhaps representing less the thousands of yachting / sailing types enjoying the natural elements (very PC, of course) than
the seekers of testosterone thrills gained at the expense of lots of emissions (rather less PC)
I wonder how hard the civil servants really fought to keep our Red diesel exemption? Mano a mano!
