John… my ISP is “Bigpond” a division of Telstra OZ, once the only telephone company in OZ.
They now have sold 40% of the company and must make money. What better way to do this than to increase telephone calls?
At regular times during the day we get cut off, sometimes in the middle of an e-mail message. Yesterday was a prime example, right in the middle of reading your mail I went off the air, and now cannot retrieve anything from you. Be a good lad and send me your address again please . I am also dialled into Big Pond right now and have been cutoff twice in the last half hour. I know it isn't my system as I can dial into my office and stay connected for days but only average an hour or so with T. Numerous complaints get nowhere, it is purely money generation.

By the way, I have now gone without alcohol for four CONSECUTIVE nights. Should I continue or struggle on without?????? There is no medical reason, just thought I'd see what it was like.

Funnily enough Im just at 4 days booze free, for just the same reason... I was wondering if I will feel better/worse or just the same.

Right now Im just a bit disappointed to find out it hasnt made any real difference... I feel knackered all the time and only thing I really want to do is go sailing.

I suspect the Knackered bit is the result of years of shift work. Im sure that in years to come they will find that shift workers all die early like longhaul airline crews, due to constant changes in sleep patterns

I couldn't agree more although I don't have the same shift work issue, although being a single dad isn't too much different.

I can't say I feel better so I am about an hour off going to te pub for the traditional Friday lunchtime beer, then get stuck into it tonight to make up the lost ground during the week.

Only thing is the kids reckon I've been less grumpy in the mornings so maybe I'll keep it up during the week.....

Brian......... Shift most of it these days... Thats the up side.. also just had a good 2 days on Fairweather and feeling better already (Good time to lift booze embargo!)
