It disturbs the sea horses grazing in the sea grass that hasn't been ruined by yacht anchors. Or, more seriously, leaves the seabed in a worse state than scallop dredging and kills fish, cetaceans and crustaceans. Apparently there are alternative methods of disposal.Whats wrong with exploding disused ordnance underwater? Why would anyone be concerned such that it needs a campaign to stop it?
