Just fitted one today. Fairly straight forward but I've had a problem with the 12v supply. I started with the best intentions. Oversize cable, crimped joints with heat shrink. In line fuse and isolating switch. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't. Bad connection somewhere I thought and checked everything. Couldn't find a problem so started eliminating joins in cable. I'm now at the point of having a straight run of cable from the power directly to the loo and it works every time. Voltage at the loo 13.2 volts. Can these things be so sensitive to voltage drop so as to make them erratic? Have I just got a faulty loo. As it stands at the moment it works perfectly. My next plan is to run the power supply through a proper fuse box ( as opposed to the inline fuse ). And if it's still reliable I will leave it at that. Any thoughts please? Thanks. Alan

I guess it maybe depends on what sort of inline fuse you fitted. If it relies on spring contacts, it might not be ideal for the 20A or so which the toilet takes. A fuse with bolted connections would be preferable.

I think (hope! ) you are right and neither the fuse holder or on/off switch were man enough for the current. I'm even doubting now that the cable I've used is big enough. I've learnt a big lesson here and will be very particular in future.

Others reading this should learn from my mistake, rather than make their own. Oh well, what I can say of a positive nature is that jabsco have made the fitting very easy and those of you that have memories of an extremely noisy loo can be assured that these are now no noisier than a manual flush. Thanks Vyv re voltage advice. The only back up I have is a bucket! Thanks. Alan
