Contact the RYA. A mate of mine had the same problem a few months ago and they sorted it out for him.

Err well if the RA don't keep records as to who holds a licence and they're the only people who would ever be likely to check if you've got a licence, you might as well have a photocopy of mine and just change the name. No-one'll ever ask to see it anyway. Or is there a flaw in this logic somewhere?

Re: LJS picture

Now it's funny you should ask that Arthur 'cos I wondered the same a few weeks ago.

Here's how you can find out where anyone's picture came from, but esp LJS's. If you click on the picture and then click on properties, double click on the URL address and paste it into your address bar, (leaving out the bit after org), it'll lead you to where the piccie came from and it's quite interesting too. I'm not going to tell you where it leads, I'll leave you to find out yourself.

Re: LJS picture

Found it! A long way from Taunton, too. I wonder how he found the site in the first place.
There is a parade of boats on Sarasota Bay at Christmas and some are pretty exotically decorated. I can't be bothered with all that and we usually go on someone else's boat and drink their booze. Makes for a fun evening. Missed it this time because of prior commitment.

Re: LJS picture

Glad you've found where it came from!! Just come back from the White Horse at Bradford on Tone after a few good pints of Butcombe, bet you don't get that over there ;-)

Picture will change tomorrow, Christmas is now officially over, or so I'm told by SWMBO.

Re: Butcombe

Don't know Butcombe. What is it? Beer or zoider? But I know Bradford on Tone, Heatherton Grange an' all that. Used to flash past there on the A38 on me boik at about 40 mph behind a bus or a lorry. Could do the 7 mi from Town Hall Wellington to County Hall Taunton in 13 min. Not so much fun goin' west against the wind, tho', esp over Stonegallows. Never gave boating a thought in those days.

Re: Butcombe

As my mother used to say, Haydn, 'You know what thought did.' :)
When I lived over yonder I was never much of a pub-goer; acute asthma and ciggie smoke were not a good match! Any road up, was Butcombe around when I was a lad, all those years ago, or is it a product of one o' them new-fangled micro thingies? Am I showing more of my small-worldliness? I'm sure it won't be long before I find out.
Ooops got to duck - gail force winds, thunderstorms and 15ft seas just forecast for 'ere today. Must be Sunday! (Does that mean we won't have to go to Sunday school, Mum?)

Re: Butcombe

Brewed near Bristol, I've been drinking it for 20 years or more. It's an excellent bitter, not too strong, you'll have to try a pint when you're back.

Re: Butcombe

The least you could do is mail the poor man a pint in one of your used Soltron bottles. Poor chap's stuck out there in the colonies drinking Budweiser or Coors light and I bet he can only barely remember what a good pint tastes like. Go on, send him a pint. While you're at it I'll have a pint too;-)

Re: Butcombe

Correction - I have only one used Solly bottle which was dumped some time ago. It will not be replaced. Therefore your suggestion impossible to carry out!!

But on the other hand I do know of someone not a million miles away who does have a solly bottle. Maybe he will oblige. ;-)

Re: Butcombe

Ah but mines FULL and what's more we don't have this butscum beer up here, so no real help. Wot about one of your wife's empty lemonade bottles then?

So what are we supposed to read into the "I have only one used Solly bottle which was dumped some time ago. It will not be replaced" You've obviously formed a (not favourable) opinion. Tell All. New fred.
