I've lost some knots.

cost was about 20% less than a lift at HYS
The divers you recommended have come up with a reasonable price (and can also do the anodes on the same dive if needed), no lift needed either so easier to organise - so I'll do that next time.

Lift booked for Wednesday next week. Supplier now involved as the evidence produced on the WOT speed tests on commissioning shows 3400 rpm so maybe wrong props. We'll get boat and drives / props clean again and do another trial.

VP will shortly be getting hate mail from them I presume? You're a natural pirate. If you ever find your boat in Conwy we'll ensure you're moored alongside Starfish

Why don't you try Hempel Silic One?

It's a silicone coating rather than antifouling.

I'm on my second season and am just up the river from you so same conditions apply.

No environmental issues, self cleaning on a planing hull and you may see an increase in speed as I did. Superheat6 k of this parish was impressed enough to do his hull this year and I believe he's happy.

As the active ingredient of antifouling is progressively reduced the modern alternative of a fouling release coating becomes a no brainer....

I have that on props rudders and P brackets.
had to dive on props a few weeks ago to untangle a line.
props seemed completely clear but the stuff was peeling off the rudders.

I don't have it on props or rudders as outboard powered. Prop speed seems the best for sterngear, I haven't heard any reviews that Silic One is good for that.

However, for the hull it's a different matter!!! I can get away with a lift and hold annually to service engine and check anodes on the brackets. Quick pressure wash to take off a bit of slime then back in. Silic One is relatively rare but my experience with it has been positive.

How old is the Antifouling on your boat.
If it was a stock boat on the water maybe original from when built
Boat was new, was a stock boat but on the hard not on the water - launched end of April. Trials 7 May. So it's right that the AF could have been applied some time befiore launch. Have also learned from several sources that tube worm bad this year.

Lift and scrub booked for next week with re-trial immediately afterwards.

Well if anyone's interested I spent a wearisome and expensive day today with jetwashers and scrapy things. Quick summary:

Hull was pretty clean. Minor slime only.
Drive casings and swim platform very badly fouled.
Props not too bad. Slime.

This in less than 4 months from launch.

Also took opportunity to change cav plate and transom shield anodes as they were well over half gone.

Speed trials afterwards revealed that the boat is back to "almost" where she was on commissioning. Still lost 100rpm or so and a couple of kts compared to spec.
