Re: I\'ve just added up my boating bills for the year
At least it is sat in sunshine and you can go to it occasionally.
Spare a thought for the Solent berth holders paying £150 week to get rained on /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
Best get some sunny photos out /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
Re: I\'ve just added up my boating bills for the year
I got a letter from Shamrock Chandlery. It was my annual loyalty scheme credit note, this year for £140+ indicating a truly staggering amount spent there for the year...
Re: I\'ve just added up my boating bills for the year
I would put them in the shredder quickly, I the wife saw them you may be even more depressed.
Being possative - at least the money will not be wasted on frocks / carpets /curtains etc. and it gives you a reason for working.

I think it was Mike that took over the tanker off Africa recently - he needed to top off his tanks! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Second that,
I paid the marina fee, the insurance, a fill up of fuel, over £1k of repairs, all for 5 days in July with an engine problem which meant top speed was only 10 kts, realistically more like 7kts as no point in pushing the lump of water along. And the bog blocked as well /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif Oh yes and 3 hours trying to get out of Ferry road for lunch when the bloody South run was going past.
Re: I\'ve just added up my boating bills for the year
No pleasing some people, you have an Italian boat who's value will be measured in euro, and you might otherwise have invested the money in shares. Do the sums including 5-10% pa depreciation on the boat, 25% devaluation of sterling, and 40% reduction in the FTSE, and your boat is probably the best investment you've made in the last 2 yrs ..
Re: I\'ve just added up my boating bills for the year
..I dont think the exchange rate helps much either Mike. We would be due to pay our mooring fee for the year about now and I figure the cost would have been 20% higher than last year just on the € vs £.
But then you have the sun and some great anchorages......
