I\'ve got a lovely pair of.........

.....Separ SWK-2000/5 fuel filter/water separator thingies, one fitted to each tank. I went to get some filters for them yesterday from the local Separ agent and he wanted £17.60 each the theiving bastard, anyone know of a cheaper source?

Plus, I am going to fit another prop, its nickel bronze on a 1.25 inch shaft, not sure of the taper, can anyone tell me what torque setting I should use on the nut? And should I do any preparation of the tapers? ie lap them together with valve grinding paste? Any thing else I should know? Or just whip one off and bolt other on?

P.S. I do have a puller to get the blighter off.

burgundyben, coolest of men, by all I'm called, cool burgundyben.

If you go to your local car and garage shop. (Any good car spare shop) Give him the numbers off the filters. He might be able to track them down in the "Fram" or other reference books. Works for engine mounted filters. From engine model no.

Im no expert but I dont think you have to lap the props on. If the two tapers match then they should be no problem its the big nut thats gonna keep on. Lapping would probly make em hard to get off!
