Re: I\'ve Bought a new boat

2 minuets, not bad!
Thanks for asking, it’s the Jeanneau 24.2, I know, I know, but its great for our Windermere sailing, and “she” was getting fed up of the four of us spending weekends on our 18” sailfish, “Its like spending the weekend in a wardrobe” she tells everyone.

Should have it in the water in the next couple of weeks, can’t wait.

Sailfish ......

Isn't that the boat that had RAVE reviews not so long ago in the mags ?????????

I know the feeling well about being cramped ... started with an Alacrity ----- great sailing, like a dinghy with a lid on !!!!

Re: Sailfish ......

The sailfish has been a great boat, it was our 1st boat, only paid a couple of £K for it and have had great fun learning without worrying too much about the odd bump! (I’m starting to feel nostalgic already and it hasn’t gone yet!)
waking the kids up to use the heads in the middle of the night was the last straw!

Re: Sailfish ......

Don't misunderstand me .... I thouroughly enjoyed my Alacrity ... towed it behind a Ford Capri 2.8, dropped into various harbours etc. with gay abandon ... sat on mud-banks waiting for tides, sailed single-handed, pottered about Chichester Harbour, IoWight etc. etc. Then I moved up in size - still towed it, but needed Land Rover .... then moved up again and now the towing days are over .... too heavy etc. Still miss the fun of dinghy with a lid on !!!!!!
