I know several boats that were in Grenada. The boat I did the ARC on last year was in Grenada Marine. One of the lucky ones its upright and so its rig. I have loss fortunate friends whose boats didnt make it and their Caribbean season they were looking forward to again this winter has been ruined.

Looking at these pictures, I am surprised to see many with shredded sails attached. Is it not normal practice to remove sails when there is a hurricane coming ??

I have been toubled for some time that I generally feel a lot more depressed seeing boats getting destroyed by storms than I do seeing people and houses suffering the same fate.

Am I a bad person?
