If you are at the Folly now maybe you would might like Island Harbour further up the Medina river towards Newport if the depth is enough for you at HW -not a mooring but very quiet marina .

Cowes does have easy transport links... Ferry to Southampton Town Quay and a ten minute walk to Southampton Central train station..

If you wanted mainland side then perhaps Marchwood Yacht club.. Their website suggests £10/night for visitors. They are right at the top of Southampton water but it would be a ten minute taxi ride to Totton railway station.

If you're ashore at the Folly Inn then it's just a ten minute walk up the river, along the shore to Island Harbour marina. There is a chandlery there as well if you don't get what you need in Cowes..

So... Cowes is turning out to be cool. Found this little gem and added a coat to the waterline, checked anodes and greased the prop! Free parking too! Harbour master even came down to say hi.
