Looks as though it was at anchor last night, but dragged (into the wind?), and then head off south straight for the beach at 7kn odd.

She was one of the ships used in the Crossrail spoil project at Wallasea. Got quite used to getting out of her way in the Crouch

All very odd. If the anchor dragged, why didn't the ship end up stern on the the beach? How is it that the pics show both anchors tucked up safely? Wind was a bit N of W IIRC. Did the hand on anchor watch get bored and decide to start her up and go for a trip round the area?
I don't think we are being told everything.....
