Is this you on the Orwell & Stour today

A huge gust of wind caused the rudder to stall and the pretty yacht broached badly throwing its occupants into the water and careering onto the shore line where the yacht grounded. A large ship passing down the Orwell in attempting to miss the two sailors in the water, failed and ran them over and also ran out of control onto the pretty yacht wrecking it. The resulting collision caused the highly imflammable deck cargo to explode bringing down the Orwell Bridge and two hundred motorists perished before the road could be closed. In the other direction, the tidal wave from the explosion ran down river and drowned all the cars in the car park of the Butt and Oyster and caused a tidal surge in SYH causing all the pontoons to come loose from their anchorages and wreck the entire marina. Running on, the tidal wave went on into Felixstowe where it caused three large container ships to capsize in the harbour closing the port for two months and loosing 39000 containers. The financial shock of these losses, caused the stock market to collapse, the recovery to end and plunged the economy of the UK into recession which in turned hastened the economy of the EU in another recession. David Cameron vowed vengence on the pretty yacht and passed immediate legislation banning all recreation sailing on the coast of the UK for ever putting thousands of marina workers out of work and leaving owners with thousands of worthless yachts.:encouragement:
Very good.... made me chuckle!

High speed sailing - very frightening

Cooor all those dials - how do you manage to keep check on it all !!!

Does it show a boat speed of over 8 knots - seems very fast to me. I would get dizzy with a speed like that.

I thought the sea would open up and swallow any yacht near to the speed of water running down hill ?
