Is this the greatest interior refurb ever?

I'm sure they would change things if they don't work for them.
That's the thing. They've (re)built a boat that works for them, and they've proved it works by putting in more miles than most of us will ever do.. It may not be to my taste but, if I want something to my taste, I can buy a boat and put in all the work - and evolution of design that they did. Except I'm too old now, so I'll put up with what Mr Lack gave me, give or take.

What do I feel about them and their ilk? Huge admiration and just a little bit of jealousy.

I have owned four boats now and the only one I didn’t really completely hack about inside, was the Rustler 36.
It just worked . For live aboard on anchor , marina living , day sailing , hard sailing , entertaining , mainly because it wasn’t narrow and they didn’t try to cram too many rooms into it ..

When I had a Pearson a bit smaller than Uma I added two feet to the stern , shifted the rudder post , removed bulkheads , and it too had HUGE twin cockpit lockers that interconnected under the cockpit sole .
You can do a lot if the space is there to start with .
The Uma guys chose their starter boat really well I think ?

I agree. Personally I quite like the wooden look of a Westerly / HR / Arcona etc interior. But I, like most on this forum, am at least a generation older than Sailing Uma and tastes change (go on, admit it, you probably had flares, platform soles and long hair in the past, which is probably no longer the height of fashion style).

But also, as well as needing to be their home, the interior of Uma has unique requirements of needing bright and open spaces to act as their studio and backdrop for filming, and table workspace for two computers to do their film editing and production.
I guess the huge following they have suggests they have judged these aspects pretty well. And, if anything doesn’t work to their satisfaction, they can quickly adapt it.
