Re: Boat owners index

Nope, I am still not convinced. I'll bring the ping pong ball, throw overboard and we can do a MOB procedure. If you find the ball I'll buy the beer.

Re: Boat owners index

Mine came out 0.805 which is funny seeing as I own a Leader 805. Weird.

This thread has drifted.....

......and is now a hazard to shipping /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

All vessels are advised to keep a close look out during night hours for vessels exhibiting sector search behaviour being helmed by persons of indeterminate age generally behaving in a somewhat juvenile fashion looking for ping pong balls.

Any vessel seeing a ping pong ball is asked to refrain from approaching, submit position and direction of drift to HMCG and to be aware that a small speedboat may also be in the vicinity with a single occupant apparently doing moonies in no specific direction.

I am going back to bed..........

don't think age really comes into it here ... Age is more a "state of mind"... then there is the interesting question.... does your stae of mind set an a particular age, and gain "experience" after that.. My mindset is the same as when I was in my mid 30's, but do notice that I am not as fit as I was then, so do have to tell my body to keep up with my mind every now and then...

1963 Model with a index of 1,10 , who have experienced a lot in a relatively short life....

Re: This thread has drifted.....

This thread has drifted a bit, I don't think we need a discusion about Ping Pong balls on to different posts do we?
amf's idea of a the boat index seems to have taken a lot of people imagination, and has worked quite well, although i don't seem to see the older generation Wanting to work it out./forums/images/icons/laugh.gif
Also this thread although posted as a light humour laugh, has proved a couple of things,,,,,Yes there are a lot of 'Grumpy Oldgits' on this forum, but there is definately a lot of 'Grumpy Young-Gits' on the forum too.
But i also think its great, and always enjoy the good friendly banter that goes on.

Keep the wealth of information coming and lets keep having fun.

Cheers

Alistair.

I'm a 0.57 but just noticed that my boat length reversed becomes my age.....also interesting is that a one foot difference in boat length then results in a ten year age difference....hmmmmmm...scary......maybe I need a smaller boat.....

Blimey!!!! You do realise this is a very easy way to work out peoples ages...
You don't look 6* years young in that picture of yours!!/forums/images/icons/laugh.gif/forums/images/icons/wink.gif
It must have been taken a long time ago, can you remember that for back?/forums/images/icons/wink.gif

"...the boat index seems to have taken a lot of people imagination"

I can see it now......

- a BI 100 (like the FTSE 100) that is made up of the 100 most famous forum members index's. This can be used by the industry and analysts to spot trends in the boat buying public

- Forum tee shirts with your name and score. So that at events such as SBS,similar age and boat size people can choose to greet or ignore each other!

- Special VIP clubs for the over 2.0's etc etc

- and I will publish the yearly BI demographic report that I will sell for enormous amounts of cash to the boat builders and boat journo's etc so that I can become a 1.5!! /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif and I might even give you a cut cos it was your thread /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

Hang on a mo......

It has just occurrred to me that there is a political correctness issue about the original topic of this thread......

Do you mean 'Is this an Oldgits Forum' as in ' A Forum belonging to Oldgit' or do you mean as in 'A forum for Old Gits'

You will appreciate that there is a world of difference in the two interpretations. Its a bit like saying 'Is this a Hoovers Forum' when you really mean 'Is this a Vacuum Cleaners Forum' or even 'Is this a Guiness Forum' when you really mean 'Is this a Stout Forum'.

Clarification would be useful...........

Re: Hang on a mo......

I think its quite clear what i mean!!!!!!
Is this an Oldgits Forum,,,,,i.e..... Is this a forum for Oldgit!!!!!
Or is this place full of catangious oldgits, with nothing to do from day to day apart from causing trouble, and confusing people./forums/images/icons/laugh.gif/forums/images/icons/wink.gif.

What i was trying to establish was is, Are there generally more people from the older generation, or the younger generation on here???

Ok.

BTW, you know i love you really./forums/images/icons/blush.gif
