Is this a viable project?

If the engines are salvageable then they and the transmissions are about the only items with any value. If I'm not wrong they need specialist tools to work on them that probably only Caterpillar technicians will posses so possibly only a main dealer route to rebuild. That would cost a small fortune and render this project beyond repair.
Can't see how this could ever be viable unless all the mechanicals are sound. Even then it's borderline.
That transom damage looks worse than it probably is and the foredeck is probably a straightforward repair but the internal fit out is where the time and money would need to be spent.
When you consider the cheapest one for sale on Yachtworld is £282k and probably bought for £240k'ish then this wreck is probably almost worthless. I pity the person who has taken this on as they have cocked up in my books.

I don't 'coz I suspect they paid an awful lot less than they are asking, lets say £25k to the insurance co as a write off. They are just flying a kite to see if somebody truly gullible comes along

Re several t60s sunk - anyone know why?
In the case of this one, it looks like the props and shafts were ripped out as a result of a grounding so it doesn't look like it was due to an endemic fault with T60s:D

Based on recent quote CAT C18's similar engine family the C15's will absorb 50/55K plus VAT for rebuild by Finnings.

One could get re-build cheaper however I would only go with a Finning rebuild and many potential would be of the same opinion.

The one I saw at Itchen marine, the owner ran over a cardinal buoy and turned his Fairline into a submarine. I think its more user error.

Funnily enough the guy wants about 200k for his and there are no engines, no wiring and nothing inside.

I think its still there at Itchen Marine on the quay.

That's been there at least 4 years. Must be costing a few quid in storage but then if it's worth £200k then the storage fee's are a minor issue:cool:

Blackpool rings a bell.

I think this mob have previous. They were trying to flog a large Beneteau sailboat with big holes in it, for a similarly silly price.
