I think I might be in the position to claim the record for having owned the most number of boats on a private basis.I am not trying to brag about it because it has been a very expensive exercise over the years, although I have learned a great in the process. So come on and tell the number of boats you have owned

Started off with a dinghy and varius canoes then;
Moth sailing scow, 3 OK dinghies, 24 foot yacht, 2 flying 11's, 2 Finns, Flying Dutchman, 2 fishing runabouts, 26' commercial fishing vessel and a 15 ' commercial net boat, 40' tuna vessel with 2 dinghies.
Still have the 40' boat, sail a Finn on the weekends and have the Flying Dutchman as a fun boat.

You had a nobby, which one?

Tell me some more.

I have worked on a few nobbies locally, the last being the Hannah Hambilton, which I saw back in her full sailing condition in Pwllheli a couple of months ago. When I worked on her she was a smelly trawler.

Beautiful boats that will take anything.

Is that all, Bluevelvet? I am disapointed. I am on Number 21 at present, having started with 8 different dayboats, according to age and experience, 2 fiwsihing boats, and a variety of small cruisers, including:

Lysander
Felicity
Mystic (R Tucker)
Westerley Nomad (ugh!)
Barroncraft 24 (nice, but she sank)
Caprice
28 foot Wharram (horrendous!)
Seamew
Matilda (R Tucker)
Classic 19 (excellent once set up with decent sized rig)
and currently Eventide 26.

This is a joint list but I think we're up there with the "winners" (bad news is HWMBO tends to keep them so the garden is still full of a goodly selection !) !

Canoe
Rowing boat
Large yellow inflatable - became a paddling pool
Cabin cruiser
Shetland
ex-Naval pinnace
Motor sailor
Skipper
GP14
Lysander
Laser
Topper
Macwester 26
Blue Peter
6 rubber ducks
Sadler 29
Drascombe Longboat
2 dories
4 windsurfers
and a Rival 41

And knowing HWMBO we've not seen the end of the list !

<hr width=100% size=1>a pragmatist is an optimist with a boat in the UK - but serious about not being in the UK !
