Is anyone familiar with Porto Heli, Greece?

IR,
ages since I last been there, just checked, a couple of hotels are definitely open, so you can stay there overnight, guess one local restaurant will be open, worse comes to worse there's an AB supermarket by the port :p
Now, getting there, I'd advice against renting a car unless you like driving or planning to make a couple of detours for sightseeing. (Epidavros ancient theatre and Nafplion are worth visiting)
Either bus (bit messy as you'll need another bus/metro to the central bus station which is a fugly/messy place), or metro/train from the airport to Pireaus port (change line somewhere in the city centre) and then the boat (check timetables though)
no idea on surveyors, sorry.

Looks like I might be heading there next week.
I'm not a great fan of driving but there's only one flight per day from Izmir which arrives after 19.00 well after the last of the 2 daily ferries. Ferry takes 3.5 hours plus time it takes to get to Pireaus whereas Google has the drive at 2.75 hours. Car also gives me more flexibility locally so that's probably what I'll do. As regards the hotels it would be a great help if you could tell me which ones are open. Thanks for your help.

I thought I remembered a hotel in Kilada. The only one Google Maps shows is a bit out of town, Villa Hylas luxury B&B. Seems to be open, on Booking.com.

ΟΚ, Ι'm also going by gmaps and booking offerings, but I can make a couple of phone calls tomorrow and see if they are indeed open. There's no doubt there will be empty rooms if they are open ?
2.75h is a bit optimistic tbh and the road is mostly not nice, rather uninteresting but at least not dangerous...

IR,

just called hotel Rozos Hotel Rozos Porto Heli | Online Booking Engine. Guy who answered the phone confirmed that they are open, do have empty rooms and there are restaurants etc open at this time of the year. So should be fine staying there.
Booking says 55euro per night, typically on the door at that time of the year it's going to be cheaper - forgot to ask. Can ask and book for you if you wish, when you have a definite date.

Thanks. I really appreciate your help. I'm still waiting for the broker to get back to me. I'm giving her the benefit of the doubt for now and assuming she's having difficulty getting a response from the owners. Still you'd have to wonder how or why a broker would advertise a boat without having the most basic of information e.g. is it currently afloat or on the hard, how many hours on the engines/generators. I've been having exactly the same problem with a broker in France who doesn't seem to know much about a boat advertised for sale. If I ask 3 questions he obviously sends them to the owner and gets a message back which partly answers one of the questions which he just copies and pastes and sends to me in French without comment. Some of you will know my opinion of brokers and it's not improving.

Porto Heli is more than quiet this time of year. I stayed in the hotel recommended by @vas . I think I may have been the only guest last night but they took good care of me. A few small cafe type restaurants open in the town. Fairly basic but fine. Weather was bloody cold. Don't ask about the boat I came to see. Suffice to say I'm no longer giving the broker the benefit of the doubt. On the ferry back to Pireaus now and going to Syros to see another boat tomorrow. I'm almost wishing I won't like it so I won't have to deal with this broker again.

That's a shame, happy hunting!

good luck, it's bloody cold alright, Ermoupolis is a really lovely (and relatively lively!) place, hope you enjoy your stay there.
Thanks. Unfortunately in and out tomorrow - 4 hours between ferries and boat is in Finikas marina on the opposite side. Be a bit of a scramble but flight already booked home from Athens on Tuesday.
