Is 90 in 180 hurting you ?

Not true, I’ve got them, they do Stamp religiously now in and out for travel between any S zone country and the UK. So, it’s wet stamped at say the tunnel, I go wherever in the S zone no problem being mindful of the limitations, I then jump on a flight for a couple of days business in the uk, it is stamped again, thats my In and Out captured regardless to where I drift?
Sorry wasn’t clear .
Tunnel they stamp you in with the visa for long stay in France .
Once in you can wonder about Willy nilly often through unmanned borders or even the main Fr / IT @ ventimiglia .
Once your 6 month jolly in S over just be mindful to return to the U.K. via France .

This is what I thought I said .

” they don’t stamp you in and out of Fr ONCE initially IN “ Of course they stamp you in from a 3 P state visa in hand to activate the visa .

That‘s useful for my daughter who is married to an Irish guy. I wonder if it applies to their UK kids without them having to get Irish passports (which I think is possible).
Up to a certain age , not sure exactly 18 , 21 end of student ship and thus in theory dependence .
Not for ever say parent 80 y old and child 50 etc .

This requirement for an address is something I would want to clarify personally with the French embassy before I applied for the visa.

I wouldn't take the word of some unknown person on a website.

I simply don't believe that, having been issued with a visa as a tourist, one is expected to spend the entirety of one's stay in the same place!

Although as a tourist one might choose to stay in one place, it is far more likely one would move around by boat, caravan, car, train, bus, aircraft, on foot, or whatever, stopping at different places for as long as one wished.
See my post #61 .
Nobody bothers you wondering about in a car in S .
Loadsa unmanned borders within after all isn’t or wasn’t that the very plank of FoM in the first place .

Even in a marina office the “ girl “ just takes a copy of the PP and insurance…….They never comb through each page only the top details .
Shes never gonna say if you are on a Fr visa rocking up at say Portofino “ BTW I see a French visa stamp “
If she did as Forty two has outlined you play the 90/180 for the rest of S card .

Think Australian s ski instructors, yachties etc they are a in S under some form of visa ( ok work ) but then Kiwis in motor homes .
The visa route is nought new for 3 P .
I think it just new to Brits that’s all .
The covid green pass and at home NHS TTT for covid , ok now NA ……but did I hear whinging and wining at the time ? Only from idiots .
Obviously if you have past form , a convicted child sex offender on the register then sure no chance of a S country giving you a visa , on some other dodgy characters list or basically insolvent trying to blag your way in to sponge on there state , then again you will be asked to sling your hook ;) .

They S have regained border control and so has the U.K. if a convicted rapist from Spain wants to come and work in a nurses img home .

If you are normal with out a bug stain financially or criminally on your record , solvent with funds = what’s the issue ?

What on earth are you raving about? All that has nothing to do with what I posted.

I said that if I wanted to apply for a visa for France, and the application form required me to provide an address, I would have to provide one. Otherwise I would not be able to complete the form.

If it was not clear from the form what the nature of that address was, I would ask the embassy, rather than take the advice of some unknown, and possibly deluded, person on a website.

Your chuffing boat marina , or any property.
Jesus whats difficult.
I see you have “ Brittany “ as one of your locations .
Would you like to expand on that for the benefit of others to gauge your responses thus far .

For the sake of parity although not mentioned on my Avitar we have a property in cap D Antibes so an address in Fr .

Take the remain woes hat off that was a while back everyone has moved on and adapted.
Well except a few seemingly on here !

What an extraordinary outburst.
You are not behaving rationally.

I notice mention of being able to get an Irish passport through Irish Grandparents. This is true, but first you must apply for Irish citizenship which takes a little time but quite straight forward, then you can apply for a passport.

It's not difficult, but, if you are not retired you do have to convince them you will not undertake any employment whatsoever. Even retired i had to give a statement i would not work. Work of course includes remote working.

With the visa i am no worse off for time in France as I have to keep it below the 183 days anyway as not looking for residence. Used 60 days of my 90/180 earlier in the year & didn't have to worry about how soon i came back to France using the visa. Just need to count upto 182 for the calendar year.

Build yourself an Excel spreadsheet, makes it easy to do the 90/180 counting.

Good post (y)
Have you thought about offering a service on here for people who seem to be still struggling with this :)

I can't help but wonder if you are quite sane.
For the benefit of everyone reading this , Poignards Avitar has location “ London + Brittany “ and he’s struggling to fill a form in requesting a French address ? Making a huge meal of it !
Avoiding answering my Q why his Avitar says Brittany .
Was I wrong I assuming ( until he clarifies) he has a French address suitable to complete a Fr visa application?

What leads you to think that I am filling in a form?

Probably be more beneficial long term for the kids (my grandkids) to get Irish passports. All they have to do apparently is to register as an overseas birth.
My daughter (her husband is Irish) though has to spend 2 years in Ireland before she qualifies for an Irish passport. (not going to happen)
Apologies for slight thread drift but I (and my daughter) have learnt so much.

The border forces between the different countries are not quite joined up yet but should be later this year and will be sharing the in/out data with each other.
As a Belgian resident with a British Passport I am restricted to the 90/180 like any other Brit, however traveling with my wife I can stay with her up to 90 days in any other S state, after the 90 days we would have to apply for residency in that country.
Going through passport control they now ask if I have a residency card and because I do they do not stamp my passport, my normal port of entry is usually Ijmuden in The Netherlands and they ask if I am traveling straight to Belgium, If I was not going straight to Belgium then they would stamp the passport they said.

Internally we go Holland, France, Germany, and there are no border guards stopping us so far, wonder if that would be the same if I still had a UK licence plate on the car.

2 Saturdays ago I was in Maastricht with friends celebrating my ascendancy to Pension Hood, It was totally painless, crossed the Maas and went out on the town and crossed the Maas in the other direction back to Belgium. One friend is Dutch he is married to a Belgian and he works in Holland, she works in Belgium and he has a cross-border workers pass for his Belgian residency.

Marry the GF .
Or find another EU candidate to wed .
If she’s got a EU passport you can travel with her when married as a dependant .Enjoying her FoM .
While simultaneously next boat buying a vat free one and playing the TA card .
Is that a proposal

You've put words on the screen, but are they in some sort of order I should be aware of?
