I seem to remember that someone who posts on this livaboard forum does livaboard at Ipswich. Try doing a search on Ipswich. Paul
PS I have just done the search on livaboard forum only and there are at least 2 posters who livaboard there.

From my office I can see two, one I cannot spell sounds like Debarage on the new cut, the other, Neptune Marina/Haven marina is the Ipswich Harbour offering, trying to drag Ipswich uphill into the 18th century.

If you say you intend to liveabord they may decline a berth (its a suffolk thing - rules are to be interpreted and applied in the MOST draconian way) but there are lots of people who do live aboard, you can tell, all their clothes are the same shade of grey. (thats a joke by the way not a slur)

Then there is Foxes just outside Ipswich and of course Pin Mill if you can dry out and have land based transport.

Cheers

There are lots of marinas here but only three as far as we know who knowingly accept liveaboards. (Where this really helps is with the post as it means you can get it sent to to Marina rather than going somewhere else for it all the time).

Debbages - cheap, basic, small, tidebound, friendly - 01473 601169
Ipswich Haven Marina - dearer, friendly, nearest to town, well run, inside lock, not tidebound - 01473 236644 (This is where we are but we have friends in the others)
Suffolk Yacht Harbour, Levington (I think take liveaboards) - number in pilot book and not immeidately to hand - prettiest, closest to sea, probably dearest, loads of marine businesses on site

All the others require you to have a land address and Neptune (also in the wet dock) are particularly anti-liveaboards.

Here in the Haven there are severfal liveaboards and it is very friendly and the marina staff are very supportive. Note that all these marinas are very full and getting a permanent berth is not automatic.

Hi We liveaboard at Debbage Yachting in Ipswich. It is on the tidal river, pontoon mooring with electricity. Has a shower and loo on the quayside. Have been here 2 years and are about to leave for the Carribean. Great place to live and relatively cheap compared to the marinas. Chris (the boss) is a great guy and open to negotiation. His number is: 01473 601169 Good luck
